SALT LAKE CITY — After a tight game throughout, Timpview overcame Highland Friday afternoon with a run at the beginning of the fourth quarter, eventually sealing their 59-49 win that sends them to the 4A finals.

But it wasn't easy. Highland fought throughout, with tenacious defense through three quarters of play that kept the game within reach for the Rams. Going into the game's final period, Timpview led by just one.

That's when Timpview went to work in the paint. AJ Bollinger, who scored 20 points in the game, found himself with room to work inside. Bollinger also grabbed seven rebounds, and Timpview outscored Highland 38-14 down low. Colson Santiago and Gavin Baxter contributed with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Highland wasn't quite done at that point, pushing the game to within four points with two minutes left. But Timpview's stall, plus some critical made free throws, meant that they ran away with the game's conclusion.

For Highland, Brevin Elsholz led with 20 points and two assists. Elijah Shelton added 15 points, and Rick Schmidt added 10 points for the Rams.

Timpview knows that it has a difficult matchup in the final, Saturday afternoon at the Huntsman Center, after Olympus' rout against earlier in the day. But if Timpview's defense can stay stout, they'll have a chance against the Titans.
