MOBILE, Ala. — Five former college players with Beehive State ties played in Saturday's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, one of the many postseason showcases for seniors eligible for April's NFL Draft.
Here's how they fared in the South's 27-16 win over the North team.
Bronson Kaufusi, DE, BYU
Kaufusi was the only local starter for the South, but also saw plenty of time moved inside to defensive tackle in an unfamiliar 4-3 defense. The former BYU standout from Timpview High played 41 snaps on defense while earning the start, the only local player to do so on the South team. Kaufusi finished with two tackles and one pass defended, a tipped ball near the goal line in the third quarter.
Jason Fanaika, DE, Utah
Fanaika was spoken of as one of the gems unearthed at this year's Senior Bowl, and he delivered well with his performance. The former Pleasant Grove High standout finished with two tackles, had another burned off via penalty, and also drew a holding penalty on just his second series. He finished with 58 snaps, five of them on field-goal defense.
Jared Norris, LB, Utah
A leader of the Utes' defense in 2015, Norris had three tackles, including one that saved a likely touchdown in the fourth quarter. He finished with 36 snaps, six of them on special teams.
Kyler Fackrell, LB, Utah StateThe former Aggie standout made his presence known on the first play of the game, exploding through the line for a quarterback hit. He finished with 45 snaps, 17 of them on special teams.
Miles Killebrew, S, So. Utah
Killebrew played 53 snaps, including 16 on special teams. He finished with two tackles and another tackle taken away by a penalty in the first half.
