Lone Peak guard Frank Jackson, who has committed to Duke, was one of 24 players from a total of 15 states selected for the 2016 McDonald's All-American game, the committee announced Sunday night.

Jackson was one of four Utahns nominated for the event. BYU commit Yoeli Childs of Bingham High also received a nomination, as did Utah State commit Koby McEwen of Wasatch Academy and Marquette-bound Brenden Bailey of American Fork.

Jackson became just the sixth player in Utah high school basketball history to be named to the All-American team and the first since 2000, when Brighton's Garner Meads was recognized at one of the nation's top events in high school basketball. Other former McDonald's All-Americans from Utah include Britton Johnsen of Murray in 1997, Shawn Bradley of Emery in 1990, Devin Durrant of Provo in 1978 and Danny Vranes of Skyline in the game's inaugural event in 1977.

A 6-foot-4, 195-pound shooting guard from Alpine, Jackson is averaging 26.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game for the 10-2 Knights (2-0 Region 4).

Jackson will suit up for the West squad against future Duke teammate Jayson Tatum. The game, which will be broadcast on ESPN, is scheduled to be played March 30 at 7 p.m. MST at the United Center in Chicago.
