FROM THE OTHER SIDE — It's not easy getting lightning to strike twice.

Some people spend their entire adult lives crushed by the weight of their previous successes. Harper Lee, who arguably wrote the great American novel in 1960, took 50-plus years before publishing another work. Chumbawamba's "Tubthumping" was ubiquitous on radios everywhere in 1997, but the group never seemed to follow it up with anything quite as revolutionary (or obnoxious).

After Adele released a widely acclaimed album in 2011, there was some doubt that she could come back with group of songs that had as many feels as the tracks on "21." Well, shame on all of us for doubting the queen.

"Hello" has become a phenomenon, and the record from which it stems has become the best-selling album of 2015 in just three days. The song has been covered every which way, from being sung in 25 different styles on YouTube and becoming the basis of "Saturday Night Live's" best sketch of the season.

So what would happen if Adele were to take the soulful ballad and get silly with the accompaniment?

That's exactly what happened when the singer made a visit to the set of "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon. Fallon and The Roots have made a habit of reimagining songs with classroom instruments, beginning in 2014 with Idina Menzel and "Let It Go." Somehow, being backed up by blocks, maracas and kazoos doesn't seem to diminish the song's intention at all.

The format works swimmingly for Adele and "Hello." It's perfect and we love it.
