SKATER TOWN — Just when you think maybe you've heard the last skateboarding-related news about Tony Hawk, he goes and does something to blow your mind.

I mean, at 47 years old, you don't expect him to keep upping his skating game, continually showing those young upstart skater punks that he's still the boss.

Well, he certainly showed them who's the boss in a huge way last week. (And the boss certainly wasn't Tony Danza, Judith Light or Bruce Springsteen.)

In a video made in collaboration with Sony Action Cam, Hawk talks about how he had this "crazy idea" to build and skate a horizontal ramp. If you're having a hard time visualizing that, it's a loop-de-loop parallel to the floor. So for a body to skate it successfully, he would also have to be parallel to the floor for a short time, all while keeping his wheels on the ramp to make a successful exit.

Yeah, it's bananas but awesome. It's bananas awesome.

What's also bananas awesome is that Hawk actually skates it, and the video of his attempts and success is well worth the watch.
