OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Ogden Canyon travelers can expect frequent traffic delays through April 2016 as workers replace the irrigation water siphon that hangs above the mouth of the canyon.
The Standard-Examiner reports Pineview Water Systems will begin the work starting Tuesday. The existing pipeline will be removed and construction on the new siphon should be complete sometime next spring.
Traffic will be stopped in both directions at various times throughout the day for up to 15-minutes at a time.
Officials will schedule full road closures periodically. Motorists will be made aware to the changes via electronic message boards on the roadway.
The pipeline has been providing irrigation water for nearly 80 years, and serves 10,000 customers in the Ogden area.
