MURRAY — A man killed after being hit by a TRAX train Friday night was identified Saturday by police.

Donald Leroy Brown, 61, was identified as Friday's victim by Murray Police Department on Saturday. Brown was killed at a TRAX station on 4500 South in Murray Friday night after being struck by a moving train when a wheel on his wheelchair became stuck in the train tracks as he attempted to cross, according to Remi Barron, spokesman for UTA.

Brown and a female companion who was with him at the time of the accident attempted to free his wheelchair from the tracks, and Brown eventually stood up as a train approached. He fell into the tracks, where he was struck by the train and killed, Barron said.

As of Friday night, there was no indication that investigators considered alcohol or drugs a factor in the accident, Barron said.
