Correction: Original reports from officials said the man's name was Keith, which KSL.com reported. It has since been corrected to Kenneth. MORGAN — A North Ogden man died while on a motorcycle ride alongside his son Sunday, Utah Highway Patrol said.

Kenneth Rash, 53, was traveling westbound on I-84 Sunday afternoon near the Taggart interchange with his son, Christopher Rash, 36, who was on a motorcycle of his own. At approximately 4:00 p.m., the two men took a curve in the road. Rash drifted off to the right hand side of the roadway and collided with the guardrail and was then pushed across lanes of traffic to the left, coming to a stop on the left hand shoulder. Rash died of his injuries.

Christopher, an Ogden resident, laid down his bike and sustained minor injuries.

Westbound lanes of traffic of I-84 by mile marker 108 remained closed for several hours afterward, but were expected to reopen by 7:30 p.m.

Officials are investigating whether or not speed was a factor in the crash.
