SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Jazz have signed free-agent rookie J.J. O'Brien.

The team announced the signing Friday. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

The 23-year-old forward played one season at the University of Utah and finished his college career at San Diego State. O'Brien averaged 10.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists as a senior.

The 6-foot-7, 220-pounder played for the Jazz during the summer leagues in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas.

O'Brien adds depth on the wing behind Gordon Hayward, Alec Burks, Rodney Hood, Joe Ingles and Chris Johnson.

The Jazz finished the season 38-44 and had the sixth-best winning percentage (.655) after the All-Star break.
