THE INFORMATION SUPERHIGHWAY — In today's installment of the biggest things in sports' social media, we get a glimpse at the more human sides of pro athletes.
It turns out, these men and women are just like the rest of us — except with multimillion dollar contracts, flashy sports cars and apparently entire houses just for shoes.
But in the end, aren't we all just trying to build a house to stock our latest kicks?
LaMarcus Aldridge's new home is just like the rest of ours, only for shoes
The former Portland Trail Blazer standout and newly signed San Antonio forward immediately went to work on a new home in Dallas — just for his collection of footwear.
"I just built a house in Dallas, and I put a pretty massive closet," Aldridge said in an interview with SLAM magazine released Monday. "Like, I have a huge shoe section in the middle. I filled it up within a couple of weeks of being home."
Aldridge says he plans to build a smaller house behind his new frame for his shoes. As far as we know, there is no truth to the rumor that he plans to let teammate and elder NBA statesman Tim Duncan move into the shoe house as a retirement home.
That is who you think it is
Last January, soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo slowly began leaking video of himself in disguise, playing street ball with a young child while wearing a fat suit and watching as the child in question marveled at the skill of this random stranger.
On Monday, the Real Madrid legend released the full video on his Facebook page, taking fans inside the transformation as he dons the puffy undershirt, thick beard, long hair and '70s-era sunglasses before he walked the streets of Madrid and showed off to the delight of some fans.
"People are going to think I'm crazy," Ronaldo muttered in Portuguese before attempting his version of a prank.
Ronaldo was promoting his new line of headphones, Roc by Monster, with the stunt.
The kiss seen 'round Texas
NFL training camps are in full swing, giving plenty of fans in different markets a chance to watch their favorite teams and players practice and sign autographs, potentially deepening lifelong bonds of fandom.
Sylvie Rose surprised Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt.
When Watt approached the 5-year-old to sign an autograph with a "hey girl," the precocious and presumably future Mrs. Texas wrapped her arms around the man she will later marry, according to an interview by Houston's KPRC. With the quick kill, Sylvie then planted a kiss on the All-Pro's cheek.

Little Sylvie then immediately jumps back into her mother's arms, presumably to hear something about how she isn't allowed to have a boyfriend until she is 27. Watt may be waiting awhile for that first date.
