Police seek SLC bank robber

SALT LAKE CITY — Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a bank Thursday morning.

The robbery occurred around 9:30 a.m. at the Wells Fargo bank at 1710 S. Redwood Road, according to Salt Lake City police. A man entered the bank, indicated he had a weapon and demanded money. The teller complied, and he left with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured.

The man was seen fleeing westbound along 1700 South. The robber was described as a 30-year-old Hispanic male around 5 feet 11 inches with a thin build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a tan baseball cap with a U of U logo, a tan button-up shirt, black undershirt, athletic shoes, a backpack, sunglasses and dark-colored jeans rolled up at the bottom.

Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to contact the Salt Lake City Police Department at 801-799-3000. Anonymous tips may also be sent by text to 274637, referencing case number 15-140908. Texts should begin with TIPSLCPD.
