OGDEN — Davion Berry will join the group of former college standouts at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

The former Weber State guard was invited to join the D-League Select squad at the annual event, which begins Friday at UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavillion.

Berry, who won Big Sky Conference MVP and All-America honorable mention honors in 2014, will open with his team Friday against the Houston Rockets. The select team, which brings together some of the top D-League talent from a year ago that has not been invited to join an NBA team's summer league squad, will also play Washington and Atlanta in the tournament's preliminary round.

The native of Oakland, California, ranks 15th in scoring all-time at Weber State with 1,160 career points. Berry led the Wildcats to the Big Sky championship and a trip to the NCAA tournament in 2013-14 as a senior.

Berry signed a contract last year with PMS Torino in Italy before joining the Maine Red Claws, the D-League affiliate of the Boston Celtics. The 6-foot-4, 185-pound sharpshooter averaged 19.0 points and 3.5 assists per game in 39.5 minutes in Maine.
