SALT LAKE CITY — Police on Monday were trying to sort out the details of a double stabbing.

Two men in an apartment at 650 W. South Temple got into an argument about 2 a.m., said Salt Lake police detective Greg Wilking. "They got into some type of verbal alteration. Then it turned into a physical altercation. Then it turned to objects in the apartment being grabbed," he said.

One man was stabbed in the neck and the other received a cut on his hand. Wilking did not immediately know what type of weapons were used.

The man who was stabbed in the neck was found by a passer-by who then called 911 outside the building. Emergency responders found the man lying down outside, Wilking said. Officers followed a blood trail back into the building where they found the other man in the hallway.

Both men are in their mid- to late 20s, he said. One of the men lived in the apartment complex but police were still trying to determine Monday the relationship between the two, Wilking said. Detectives were also trying to determine how the fight started and who was the attacker and who was the victim.

No arrests have been made.
