OGDEN — One person is in critical condition after a driver crashed their truck into three vehicles Thursday night, police said.
The driver of a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck was observed “traveling at a high rate of speed and driving recklessly” as the truck approached the intersection of 36th Street and Harrison Boulevard around 11:52 p.m., according to the Ogden City Police Department.
The pickup truck was headed southbound on Harrison Boulevard when it first struck a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu, which was in the intersection attempting to turn north onto Harrison Boulevard, before colliding with a northbound 1996 Toyota 4Runner.
“The Chevrolet Silverado then attempted to flee from the accidents, continuing to drive south on Harrison Boulevard, and then collided with a white 1999 Nissan Sentra that was traveling northbound on Harrison Boulevard,” a statement from police reads.
The driver of the Sentra was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, according to police. They said the driver of the Silverado sustained multiple injuries, but was in fair condition. Investigators reported that the other two drivers did not sustain any injuries.
Police are still investigating the incident, but said they believe alcohol may have been involved.
