SALT LAKE CITY — The few snowflakes that fell upon Utah this season are (hopefully) long gone and the time is just right to stock up on those Cadbury mini eggs.

Easter is coming up fast, and whether you’re looking to celebrate through a religious or festive activity, there are many local opportunities to help commemorate the holiday season.

If you are looking for something meaningful or fun to participate in this year, here are a few suggestions:

Spring Fling

This Easter egg extravaganza isn’t for wimps. More than 15,000 eggs will be hidden around W & M Butterfield Park this Saturday to support a little girl whose family is trying to move into a home to better suit her medical needs. Activities for all ages are available at the Spring Fling, including a 5K race, carnival games, and a country breakfast in addition to the massive Easter egg hunt. Registration for the 5K begins at 6:45 a.m. and the race begins at 7:30.

Rotten Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Bunny won’t visit Yuba State Park until the week after Easter, but he’s better late than never; that is, as long as you don’t stumble upon any rotten eggs. The whole family is invited to this Easter egg hunt, and it will offer plenty of prizes, according to its website. Call 435-758-2611 to register for the Rotten Easter Egg Hunt.
