SANDY (AP) — Alvaro Saborio scored on a penalty kick in the 86th minute and Real Salt Lake salvaged a 3-3 tie with the Philadelphia Union on Saturday night.

Luke Mulholland was tackled by Fernando Aristeguieta in the box to set up the penalty kick.

Real Salt Lake scored first on a free kick by Javier Morales after Saborio was knocked out of the air on a header.

Philly evened it in the 34th minute. A cross deflected off an RSL defender, forcing Nick Rimando into a scrambling save. Aristeguieta got behind the defense and headed the rebound into an open net. Four minutes later, Aristeguieta took advantage of Salt Lake's defense out of position on a throw-in and he went far post.

Salt Lake tied it in the 55th minute as a cross bounced off several RSL players and Jamison Olave, falling down, headed it home.

Moments later, Olave deflected a cross past his own goalie to put the Union back up 3-2.
