SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Salt Lake City officials say they've made a system-wide upgrade to the city's electronic parking meters.

Mayor Ralph Becker says in a statement that input from users helped guide the improvements that will be announced Tuesday morning near Salt Lake City's main government building.

City officials say they've updated the hardware and software on the 300 solar-powered parking kiosks. They say they've added a new keypad, better lighting, faster payment-processing times and an easier-to-use interface.
