LOGAN — Even with its rising status in the college football world, Utah State has still had to go far and wide for nonconference games, including last season’s opener at Tennessee.

In 2015, the Aggies will stick a little closer to home.

The Mountain West unveiled Utah State’s full 2015 football schedule Monday, and the Aggies will play every game west of the Central time zone. Utah State will not leave the state of Utah for the first two weeks of the season, a span that includes the re-addition of its longest rivalry in program history, when it faces the University of Utah in the second week of the season.

"We are excited about the upcoming season and the caliber of opponents our fans will get to see in Romney Stadium as we host four bowl teams from a year ago," Utah State coach Matt Wells said in a statement. "We know and recognize the challenge of competing in the Mountain West as we will play six bowl teams from within our conference this year.

"We have already begun preparations for the 2015 season and anticipate great results from spring practice that starts in two weeks. We look forward to competing for a Mountain West championship this fall."

The Aggies will play the latest rendition of the “Battle of the Brothers” at Utah on Sept. 12 a week after hosting Southern Utah in both teams’ season openers. Utah State last played the Utes in 2013, a 30-26 loss at Rice-Eccles Stadium during the opening week of the Aggies’ first season in the Mountain West.

The Utes represent the Aggies’ longest rivalry game, dating back to Nov. 25, 1892. Utah leads the all-time series 78-29-4.

Utah State then travels to Washington for a Sept. 29 game at Washington and returns home for its conference opener Oct. 3 against Colorado State.

The Aggies’ other home games include Boise State on Oct. 17, Wyoming on Oct. 31, Nevada on Nov. 21, and BYU on Nov. 28 — one week before the Mountain West championship game.

Utah State rounds out its schedule with road games at Fresno State on Oct. 10, at San Diego State on Oct. 24, at New Mexico on Nov. 7, and at Air Force on Nov. 14. The Aggies will only play back-to-back road games twice during the year and will finish the final two weeks of the season at home against the Falcons and Cougars.
