OREM, Utah (AP) — Marcel Davis scored 20 points on 9-for-15 shooting, Mitch Bruneel added 15 more and Utah Valley coasted to a 72-49 win over Texas-Pan American on Saturday night.
Donte Williams contributed 12 points and Zach Nelson had 11 to go with eight rebounds and six assists as Utah Valley (10-16, 4-7 Western Athletic Conference) shot 54.9 percent on 51 attempts from the field and controlled the boards 32-20.
Trailing by eight at the break, UTPA (9-19, 3-9) cut the gap to 35-33 early in the second half with back-to-back 3-pointers from Janari Joesaar. Utah Valley stretched its lead back to five, then broke away with a 13-2 run ignited by Zach Nelson's 3-pointer to make it 55-39 with 11:12 left and the margin never fell below double figures the rest of the way.
Shaquille Hines led the Broncs with 12 points, Joesaar added 11 and Shaquille Boga had 10.
