SALT LAKE CITY — The Mormon Tabernacle Choir released a free app Tuesday that allows iOS users to stream its music 24/7.

The app is focused on the choir’s music, which is powered by the Mormon Channel and the Sacred Music Library, but also includes its latest videos, blogs and calendar of events, according to a press release.

Blu-rays, DVDs, digital music albums and books featuring the choir are available for purchase on the app. Users can also download tracks from the Sacred Music Library.

“We are making the choir’s music available to a younger and more international audience by taking it to them in a digital format,” choir manager Scott Barrick said in the press release. “Our mission is to make inspirational music available across generational and cultural boundaries because we know it has the power to uplift and bring joy and peace.”

The app is currently available in iTunes for iPhone and iPad users and will be available for Android users in the spring.

The choir has been present on digital media channels since 2012 when it launched its YouTube channel, which has more than 20 million views. It’s Facebook page also maintains a lot of traffic, gaining popularity in the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Guatemala, New Zealand, the Philippines, Canada and Australia.
