PLEASANT GROVE, Utah (AP) — A 28-year-old Pleasant Grove man has been arrested on charges accusing him of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy nearly three dozen times.
The Provo Daily Herald reports Randall Bergstrom is being held in the Utah County Jail on $250,000 bail.
Pleasant Grove police say the victim's mother reported the alleged incidents to officers on Sunday. They say Bergstrom acknowledged he knew the victim and his family fairly well and consented to an interview late Tuesday.
Bergstrom allegedly said he routinely played video games with the boy but that about two months ago the relationship escalated and he began to touch him inappropriately.
Police say the victim claims the incidents happened about 35 times over the months.
