SALT LAKE COUNTY — A downed power line closed I-80 for an hour Tuesday afternoon and the road was again temporarily closed Wednesday morning due to repairs.
A Utah Department of Transportation truck driver was leveling dirt on the shoulder of the road Tuesday, when the raised truck bed hit a power line, UDOT officials said. For more than an hour, lanes were closed in both directions on I-80 near the Salt Lake International Airport off-ramp.
Around 9:45 a.m., the east and westbound lanes on I-80 were again closed near I-215 while UDOT performed repairs to the power line, officials said. The repairs were completed and the road reopened around 10:15 a.m.
