DRUNNINGTON — To give you a peek into my incredible balance and multitasking abilities, let me share a story from this morning. As I rolled out of bed, I started brushing my teeth and then simultaneously walked down my stairs to get some clothes from our laundry room in the basement. I won’t bore you with the details, but suffice it to say brushing my teeth and navigating stairs proved to be too much and I now have a bum ankle and a bruised ego.

Doing two things at once is not my thing. It is the thing, however, of self-proclaimed, out-of-work drummer Brendan. This multitasker is better known as the Treadmill Drummer, and he lives up to his name. Brendan describes himself on his YouTube channel as “an obsessed marathon runner and out-of-work drummer.” Brendan goes on to write that he’s “not particularly good at either, but combining the two makes for a laugh.”

Brendan has a few videos of him jogging and playing along to popular songs, but I chose the anthem of many ’90s teens to display here, “All the Small Things” by Blink-182.

I can’t really pinpoint why this is so stinking entertaining, but I don’t have to, because Brendan is now a folk hero. I hope to get in contact with him someday so he can help me solve my clean-teeth-navigating-stairs problem.
