CHENEY, Wash. (AP) - Tyler Harvey hit 7 3-pointers to score a career-high 39 points and Eastern Washington's defense took over down the stretch on Thursday to open Big Sky Conference play with an 84-78 win over defending champion Weber State.
The Eagles (10-4) held the Wildcats (5-7) without a field goal from the 5:57 mark until Ryan Richardson's 3-pointer with seven seconds left.

Parker Kelly's only basket of the game, a 3 from the left corner, put EWU ahead 77-75 with 1:45 left. Drew Brandon followed with a steal and dunk and then the Eagles hit 5 of 6 free throws in the last 32 seconds.
Richardson hit six 3s for a career-high 22 points and Jeremy Senglin had 17 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and three steals for the Wildcats.
Venky Jois had 18 points for EWU, 16 in the first half when EWU took a 38-36 lead, and blocked five shots.
