TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (December 30, 2014) — Miller Motorsports Park is pleased to announce that it has extended its sponsorship agreement with professional Supercross racer Landen Powell of South Jordan, Utah.

Powell, 23, competed in the East Lites class in the 2014 Monster Energy Supercross Championship, achieving his career-best season. He qualified for the main event in five rounds, with a best result of 11th place in Las Vegas. This result qualified Powell into the prestigious Davey Coombs Jr. East/West Shootout. Powell also competed in select rounds of the 2014 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, capping off the season with a solid 20/20 in the Zions Bank Utah National at Miller Motorsports Park. Powell's results earned him National No. 85 for the 2015 AMA season.

Miller Motorsports Park will sponsor Powell's No. 85 KTM 250 SX-F in the 250cc class for all West Lites rounds in the Monster Energy Supercross Championship and five rounds in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship including the Utah National at Miller Motorsports Park on August 15, plus selected regional races throughout Utah, Idaho, Nevada and Montana.

"We're pleased to be able to extend our agreement with Landen," said Brian Smith, General Manager of Miller Motorsports Park. "He's an outstanding racer and, more importantly, a terrific young man. We're sure he will continue to be an excellent representative for Miller Motorsports Park and our motocross programs, including the Utah National, as well as for the state of Utah and the sport of motocross generally."

Local pro to team up with Sportsmen for Warriors to help veterans.

Part of Powell's 2015 campaign will be a partnership with Sportsmen for Warriors (SFW), a charitable organization that honors active-duty and veteran military, police, fire, EMS and their families by promoting healing and family connections through quality outdoor activities and individualized support. SFW honors the tremendous sacrifices made by Warriors and their family members by providing support and world-renowned outdoor activities with proven therapeutic values, which promotes healing and strengthens family and community relationships and values.

At each round of the Monster Energy Supercross Championship in which Powell competes, SFW will select one Warrior to serve as Powell's on-track mechanic. The selectee's family will also be part of Powell's crew and sit in rider seating to watch the action.

"I am truly honored to continue my relationship with Miller Motorsports Park," said Powell. "In just a couple of years, Miller Motorsports Park has become a big player in motocross racing. This year they're hosting the third annual Utah National for the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, plus a Super Area Qualifier for the 2015 Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship and the big amateur race on August 14. It's an outstanding organization with a real passion for the sport, and I'm proud to be associated with them.

"I am also really pumped to be teaming up with Sportsmen for Warriors this year," said Powell. "In Supercross, your on-track mechanic is basically there for inspiration and motivation. I cannot think of anything more inspirational and motivational than having one of these guys at the line with me every week.

"Any SX mechanic will tell you that the payday for all of the hard work they put in during the week is being on the track with their rider in front of 60,000 fans. It is definitely an adrenaline rush and a cool experience. As a privateer I do not have a full-time mechanic during the week, so Miller Motorsports Park and Sportsmen for Warriors have put this program together to offer this payday to these true American Heroes. I couldn't be more excited about being a part of this program. If we can offer a cool experience for even one of these guys suffering from PTSD, I will consider this a successful season."
