WEST WENDOVER, Nev. — A Utah Highway Patrol car was hit by another car Saturday evening.

The patrol car was parked on the side of the road. Many troopers assigned to Wendover, Utah, live just across the border in West Wendover, Nevada.

Investigators say the driver of a Chrysler minivan was heading south on Tibbets Boulevard when the driver crossed the center line into the opposite lane.

The driver kept going until his minivan struck the left front end of the UHP Dodge Charger.

Both the driver and a passenger in the minivan were taken to a Salt Lake City hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators believe alcohol is a factor in the crash.

The UHP car was unoccupied.

Officers with the West Wendover police department are continuing the investigation.

The Elko County District Attorney's office will review potential charges of driving under the influence with injuries.
