FOUNTAIN GREEN, Sanpete County — A local small town is holding their first-ever Christmas light parade Tuesday evening in honor of Addie Fausset, a 6-year-old who isn’t supposed to live to see next Christmas.

Forty-five parade floats donning Christmas lights will drive down Main Street in Fountain Green beginning around 6:15 p.m.

The community will gather to support Addie, who has an undiagnosed, life-threatening disease that hasn’t allowed her body to grow since she was 3 years old.

Organizers of the event have created a hashtag #LittleAddie to accompany social media coverage of the event.

Last month, Addie’s family members asked friends, community members and anyone who wanted to participate to send Addie a Christmas card so she could hang it up on her bedroom walls.

Within a few weeks, Addie received nearly 300,000 Christmas cards from both friends and strangers from all over the world.

In addition to the cards, police officers with the Pleasant Grove Police Department donated a trailer full of cards and gifts for Addie and her sisters, including money to go toward a trip for her family to Sea World in San Diego.
