WEST VALLEY CITY — A man in his early 20s robbed a convenience store early Sunday morning, police say.

Around 1:30 a.m., the man entered the 7-Eleven located at 2321 S. Redwood Rd. and brandished a handgun before demanding cash and cigarettes from the clerk, according to West Valley police Lt. Dallan Taylor.

Taylor said the man then fled north on foot. He is described as between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9 and weighs an estimated 140 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, white tennis shoes, a gray hoodie with the hood over a black ball cap and a black bandana across his face.

The same 7-Eleven was robbed a few weeks ago, Taylor said, but police did not yet know if the same man was a suspect in both investigations.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the West Valley Police Department at 801-840-4000.
