SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Zion National Park officials are weighing whether to increase park fees.
Under a proposal released in a statement Monday, the new entry fee would be $30 per vehicle for a pass valid up to seven days, an increase of $5.
Annual passes would cost $60, up from $50 this year. Camping and wilderness permits would also rise.
Park Superintendent Jeff Bradybaugh says most of the new revenue would go to maintain Zion's 15-year-old shuttle bus system.
The agency is taking public comment on the proposed fee hikes through Jan. 23. The last time Zion increased entry fees was in 2007.
More than 2.8 million people visited the southern Utah park last year.
