SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah Lt. Governor Spencer Cox pardoned one lucky turkey Wednesday.

This year's turkey was a 56-pound tom turkey whose name was chosen in an online contest: Turko. The ceremony was held at Thanksgiving Point's Farm Country in Lehi, south of Salt Lake City.

After receiving the official pardon, Turko will now be allowed to live out its life at the Thanksgiving Point farm.

Thanksgiving Point is a family-friendly entertainment and learning center with a farm, garden and museum.

Cox was joined by Utah Agriculture and Food commissioner LuAnn Adams and Thanksgiving Point president Mike Washburn.
