SALT LAKE CITY — Utah State Parks officials released a new map Tuesday that shows 30 off-highway vehicle trails throughout Utah.

The interactive map displays several 40-mile round trip trails that offer a good day trip, according to a Utah State Park news release. Many of the trails are loops or can link with other trails for longer, multi-day rides.

State park officials believe the map will be useful for snowmobilers this winter and will help them to use designated routes on public lands.

“These interactive maps will greatly assist the OHV community with riding on designated routes and helping riders become more familiar with riding opportunities in Utah,” Utah State Parks Off-Highway Vehicle Program Manager Chris Haller said in the news release. “Online maps are more cost effective and convenient to our users while still providing quality customer service.”

Utah State Parks officials remind OHV enthusiasts that Utah law requires youth ages 8 to 16 to complete a snowmobile education course before operating a machine on public trails. Utah law also states it is illegal for anyone under age 8 to operate an OHV on public land.

In addition to the map, people can also visit the Utah State Parks OHV website for information about education courses and safety tips for riding OHVs.
