SALT LAKE CITY — This month, David Archuleta will join musical artists from nine Christian faiths in the fourth annual interfaith concert “Celebration of Christ.”

Archuleta, Kevin Olusola, beatboxer of the vocal band Pentatonix, and One Voice Choir will be this year’s featured guests in three performances at Capitol Theatre.

The concert will consist of about 20 musical numbers, including performances by the featured guests, a 40-piece orchestra, choral arrangements and dances.

Vic Deauvono, the producer of “Celebration of Christ,” said the purpose of the concert is to unite Christians and celebrate the life of Jesus Christ.

“You don’t need to go into the shadows as a Christian,” Deauvono said. “Faith always teaches good principles like family morals, direction, to have hope and be charitable. We’re going to see more of that in music and song and dance and make it a joyous experience and a way for people to start the holidays.”

This will be Archuleta’s first concert since returning from his mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in March.

“David’s been gone for a few years not only as a missionary, but as an artist,” Deauvono said. “We’re grateful to have David choose our show and to show his respect for the many Christian faiths in our area.”

According to Art Tix, “Interfaith performers include the Catholic Diocese Madeleine Choir, Calvary Baptist, First Presbyterian, Methodist SL Mass, Episcopal, Seventh Day Adventist, LDS, nondenominational faiths.”

“We think people will be moved by the concert,” Deauvono said. “They’ll be spiritually fed no matter what faith they’re in; they’ll be entertained.”

“Celebration of Christ” will take place at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 28 and at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Capitol Theatre.

Tickets are available at Art Tix.
