WEST JORDAN — Police have identified the man killed in an auto-pedestrian accident Thursday night as 65-year-old Antonio Vigil.
Vigil, whose residence was about a block away from the scene of the accident, was hit by an eastbound car on 7800 South near 2400 West. Vigil was not in a crosswalk, was wearing dark clothing, and police found indications he had been drinking, West Jordan Police Sgt. Dan Roberts said Friday.
Vigil was taken by ambulance to Intermountain Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
No charges or citations are being considered for the driver.
Neighbors told police Vigil frequently crosses the street there, Roberts said. He urged pedestrians to take extra precautions now that darkness is coming earlier.
