SALT LAKE CITY — Families of eight Utah soldiers celebrated Saturday after their loved-ones came home following an 11-month deployment to Kosovo.
The Utah National Guardsmen were in the country to help provide a safe and secure environment, freedom of movement, and to prevent conflict between the Serbians and Albanians.
Family members of the soldiers greeted their loved ones at Salt Lake International Airport, but for Maj. Chad Koon the homecoming didn't end at the airport. He decided to surprise his daughter, who wasn't expecting him home until next week.
