SALT LAKE CITY — One year ago, Nick Longshore died due to injuries sustained in an ATV crash. Longshore, a former BYU offensive lineman, was an organ donor. The man who received his heart, a former University of Utah athlete, has gone on to give back for the gift he was given.

Ken Gardner calls his new heart a "miraculous gift." So in hopes of giving back, he founded the Hearts 4 Hearts Foundation to raise awareness for organ donation and encourage more people to become donors.

The foundation has also created a college scholarship fund for the surviving family of organ donors.
