OGDEN — A pedestrian was hospitalized Tuesday after being hit by a pickup truck.

The man, 49, was walking north on Washington Boulevard on the west side of the intersection of 30th Street and Washington at 6:02 a.m., according to Ogden Police Lt. Tim Scott. A northbound pickup truck driven by a 28-year-old man turning west onto 30th Street hit the pedestrian.

Police believe the pedestrian was in the crosswalk.

The man received a "significant head injury" after striking the ground and was taken to the McKay-Dee Hospital with serious injuries, Scott said.

"Ogden police would like to remind drivers to be cautious around crosswalks especially in bad weather conditions. Pedestrians' visibility is also important and can be improved with reflective materials or lights," Scott said.
