COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS — A naked man who police say was performing lewd acts in view of girls as they walked home from Brighton High School was arrested Monday afternoon.

Cottonwood Heights Police Sgt. Mark Askerlund said police had been receiving reports for three days of a man, later identified as Benjamin Lee Nielsen, 38, exposing himself from behind a sliding glass door with the blinds open.

On Monday, as students from Brighton High were walking home, Nielsen was seen again, police were called and this time they caught him, Askerlund said.

Nielsen lives in an apartment complex adjacent to the school, in a unit that faces Bengal Boulevard, near 7600 South and 2100 East.

Nielsen was in the process of being booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Monday afternoon.
