SALT LAKE CITY — Thousands of people are without power in Salt Lake City.
The outage impacted 2,929 Rocky Mountain Power customers in the 84116 zip code area.
Rocky Mountain Power said all electricity should be restored by 10:30 a.m.
The outage came as a storm rolled through Davis, Salt Lake and Tooele counties overnight. About 70 lightning strikes hit along the Wasatch Front around 4:15 a.m.
Rocky Mountain Power said three circuits were damaged in the Rose Park area, likely as a result of lightning strikes.
