PROVO — Police are searching for a man after he attempted to abduct a 9-year-old boy Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred near Sunset View Elementary at 380 S. 1600 West around 8:30 a.m., according to Provo police. A 9-year-old boy was walking to school when he was approached by a middle-aged male. The man grabbed the boy’s arm, but the boy was able to break free and run home, police said.
The man was described as a white male with a medium build and black hair slicked back in a mullet-style haircut. He was wearing a light blue long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and blue shoes at the time of the incident.
The Provo Police Department is actively investigating the incident and police asked parents to educate their children on stranger awareness and emergency situations.
