LINDON CITY — You can never be too prepared — that’s the message Lindon City leaders are trying to send to residents.
The city held its sixth annual assimilated earthquake drill in preparation for “the big one.”
The drill is treated like a real-life scenario. Neighbors report to their designated leader in their area, either in person or by phone. From there, the leader reports to the city.
"If we don't do something, then we don't know if it works when the time comes," said volunteer Doug McKay.
McKay answers and records the emergency phone calls from neighborhood leaders. He then passes them onto city leaders who determine what resources are needed to respond to the emergency.
"You have to be quick on your feet," said volunteer Kaitlyn Marr.
