NEW YORK CITY — A man films himself giving high-fives to unexpecting New Yorkers, and the results are pure entertainment.
The Big Apple is a melting pot filled with virtually any kind of person from every kind of background one can imagine. One such person is Meir Kalmanson, who describes himself on his company’s Facebook page as “Actor, director, screenwriter and producer. But most of all, a friend.”
And friendly Kalmanson gets on the streets of New York as he films himself giving unexpected high-fives to people who are hailing cabs.
Everyone Kalmanson high-fives is surprised by the gesture, but, as you might imagine, the reaction beyond surprise varies from fearful or annoyed all the way over to joyful. Frankly, it’s a fascinating glimpse into human interaction.
As a viewer, it’s hard not to smile when Kalmanson takes deer-like, joyous leaps into many of the street high-fives. He is simply having a great time encountering many New York characters with a fleeting, if not slightly odd, connection. Indeed, Kalmanson encourages viewers in the video description to smile and pass it on.
