CACHE COUNTY — A man who had been reported as missing was found dead Monday afternoon near Hyrum from injuries police say may be due to a traffic accident.
Osmer Michael Baker, 61, of Paradise, was last seen on Sept. 5 in Logan, according to the Cache County Sheriff’s Office. Officers were sent to Baker’s residence after his family requested a welfare check and he was reported as missing.
A Utah Department of Transportation mowing crew discovered Baker’s body in Blacksmith Fork Canyon. Police said they believed Baker had been in a traffic accident involving a motorcycle and was killed from injuries sustained in the accident.
Baker’s body will be transferred to the Utah Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy. The Utah Highway Patrol are investigating the incident and more information will be posted as it becomes available.
