NEVER NEVER LAND — Sept. 19 is "International Talk Like a Pirate Day." Here are three films about pirates that will get you in the mood for celebrating.
"Hook"
In "Hook," the late Robin Williams plays the adult version of Peter Pan who has forgotten all about his youthful exploits. When his kids are kidnapped by the villainous pirate Captain Hook, Peter must regain his belief in magic to save them. “Hook” has good messages about the importance of family and may help you remember the magical power of creative imagination.
OK.com viewers say that "Hook" is appropriate for ages 8 and up and give the film an 87 percent worth-your-time rating.
"Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl"
When the words “swash-buckling adventure” are stated altogether, the first movie I think about is “The Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.” In the film, a blacksmith named Will Turner (played by Orlando Bloom) desperately looks for the woman, Elizabeth Swan (played by Keira Knightley), who he loves after she is kidnapped by pirates. In desperation to find her, Turner decides to pair up with a pirate named Captain Jack Sparrow (played by Johnny Depp). The pair’s adventures are fun, and Depp knocks the ball out of the park with his eccentric take on the captain. Just forget that there are three more entries in the series.

"The Pirates! Band of Misfits"
If you enjoy pirates and claymation, then "The Pirates! Band of Misfits" might be right up your alley. In the film, Pirate Captain (voiced by Hugh Grant) wants to prove his worth as a pirate and enters the Pirate of the Year contest. As the name of the film implies, however, Pirate Captain and the rest of his crew are unexceptional at their chosen vocation. The film follows their convoluted doings and attempts to win the trophy. “The Pirates! Band of Misfits” is surprisingly smart and funny and appropriate for the whole family.
