SUNDANCE — Sundance Mountain Resort announced the addition of a new 2-mile zip line tour that will open May 2015.

Sundance ZipTour was announced Thursday, with construction scheduled to begin in September. The 2-mile zip line is set to open to the public in 2015, making it the longest zip line in Utah and the third longest zip line tour in the U.S., according to a news release.

The zip line will be designed and constructed by Park City company Terra-Nova LLC, and will offer a vertical drop of over 2,100 feet — the largest vertical zip line drop in the country.

“ZipTour is a game-changing addition to our recreation offerings at Sundance Mountain Resort,” resort General Manager Chad Linebaugh said in a news release. “ZipTour will bring an unparalleled zip line experience to our visitors and will give outdoor enthusiasts of all ages a spectacular new way to enjoy the beauty our resort has to offer year-round.”

ZipTour will offer four individual zip line spans, including the sixth longest zip line in the U.S. Each span of the zip line will highlight details about the native wildlife, vegetation and landscape throughout the surrounding area, Linebaugh said.
