BYU quarterback Taysom Hill has been named a nominee for the Walter Camp Award, given annually to the college player of the year.

Hill is one of 50 nominees for the award, which has never been won by a BYU player. This year's watch list includes 33 offensive and 17 defensive players.

In only a season and a half of work, Hill has already set BYU's career record for QB rushing yards, with 1,680. His 14 career rushing touchdowns are second to Steve Young's 18.

Last season, Hill was ranked 10th in FBS total offense yards/game (329.4) and was third in QB rushing yards/game (103.4). In a victory at Houston, Hill became only the seventh FBS player to pass for 400+ yards (417) and rush for 100+ yards (128) in the same game. His 60 runs from scrimmage of 10 yards or more were second nationally in 2013.

He finished the 2013 season joining Johnny Manziel (2012) as the only FBS players ever to record 1,300-plus rushing yards and 2,900-plus passing yards in the same season.

Hill's 2,938 passing yards in 2013 represent the fourth-highest sophomore tally in BYU football history, with only Ty Detmer (4,560), Max Hall (3,848) and John Walsh (3,727) having passed for more yards in their sophomore season.

Including his nomination to the AFCA/Allstate Good Works Team, Hill appears on five preseason award watch lists, to lead all BYU players.

In total, nine Cougars are up a total of 18 awards, as listed below.
