SALT LAKE CITY — It's the summer break, which means we all constantly over-obsess about the upcoming football season. And what better way to address that topic than to look at the recently released Phil Steele preseason All-Pac-12 Team.
There is a lot of talent in the Pac-12, but Utah's special team duo, Andy Phillips and Tom Hackett, were named to the special team's first team. The two were the only members of the Utah football team to be named to the first team.
Hackett was also named to the All-American second team and Phillips was named to the All-American third team.
Other Utah players named were:
Second Team
- Dres Anderson (Offense)
- Geoff Norwood (Special Teams)
Third Team
- Jeremiah Poutasi (Offense)
- Nate Orchard (Defense)
Fourth Team
- Devontae Booker (Offense)
- Jason Whittingham (Defense)
- Eric Rowe (Defense)
- Brian Blechen (Defense)
Those noticeably absent from the list include: Travis Wilson, Bubba Poole, Kenneth Scott and Junior Salt.
