SALT LAKE CITY — Easter Sunday is coming up and with it comes a host of family-friendly activities. If you haven't yet planned how your family will celebrate the holiday, here is a list of activities going on around Utah for the weekend.

Little Sahara Recreation

The Little Sahara Recreation Area near Fillmore is a good spot for spending the Easter weekend and taking that first camping trip of the season. The area provides multiple trails for dune buggies, ATVs and dirt bikes as well as overnight camp sites.

The Willard R. Fulmer Visitor Center is also a fun option for families and it will have extended hours during the Easter weekend. The visitor center will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. For more information about Little Sahara Recreation Area, call 435-743-3100.

Adult Easter Egg Hunt

If you want to participate in some untraditional Easter fun, KBER 101 is hosting an adult easter egg hunt. The event will give parents the opportunity to partcipitate in the holiday fun by letting everyone 18 and older hunt and gather Easter eggs. The eggs will have prizes inside, including tickets to sporting events, restaurant gift cards and movie tickets.

The event will be held Friday at 12 p.m. at the Murray Park at 296 E. Murray Park Ave.

Provo Spring Festival

Family-friendly Easter activities across Utah

Provo is kicking off its Spring Festival on Saturday, and Easter activities will be available. The Easter bunny will be making the rounds around town and people can follow it to get photos and candy. Individuals who dress up like a rabbit will receive an extra prize.

The Easter bunny will start at 9 a.m. at the Provo Recreation Center at 320 W. 500 North. Then the Easter bunny will hop over to the Provo Library at 500 N. University Ave. at 10 a.m. Next, the bunny will make a stop at Peaks Ice Arena at 100 N. Seven Peaks Blvd. at 11 a.m. The last stop will be at the Google Fiber Customer Service Center at 250 W. Center St. #101 at 1 p.m.

After visiting with the Easter Bunny, be sure to try out some of the Easter games available at each location. Then head over to the BYU fields and join hundreds of others in BYU's third annual Easter egg hunt. Prizes and candy are available in the eggs. Feel free to stay afterwards and watch a baseball game on the fields.

Easter Eggstreme at Thanksgiving Point

Thanksgiving Point will host a Easter egg hunt, Easter bunny meet-and-greet and several activities Saturday. The events begin at 10 a.m. and then doors close at 1 p.m. There will be family-friendly activities at Electric Park, including rides on the "cow train," inflatables, face painting and flying kites.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $12 for kids. You can buy tickets online or at the door.

Easter Egg Dive-in

In St. George, instead of rummaging through grass, children can dive and swim for their eggs. Children ages 1 to 12 years old can participate in the "Easter Egg Dive-in" at the Sand Hollow Aquatic Center at 144 N. Lava Flow Dr. The regristration for the event begins Saturday at 11 a.m. and the Easter egg hunts begin at 12 p.m.

Kids will be split up into age groups for the activity. Regular pool admission applies.

Discovery Gateway Easter Bunny Eggstravaganza

For residents in downtown Salt Lake City, Discovery Gateway is hosting Easter goodness. Festivities include a photo shoot with the Easter bunny, your own private easter egg hunt, egg dying, "egg-speriments" including science and art activities.

The event will be held Saturday, April 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Discovery Gateway at 444 W. 100 South. Registration is required to participate.
