SALT LAKE CITY — Week three of spring practice is underway for the University of Utah, a week that is already off to a great start by the receivers.

WR Anthony Denham had a tremendous practice today, finding holes in the defense time and time again. With his 6'4 frame, he has big play potential written all over him. If he can continue to hold on to the ball like he did today, he shouldn't have a problem moving up the depth chart.

WR Dres Anderson showcased his speed by catching a simple slant before turning on the afterburners and racing to the corner of the endzone. During the tackle a cameraman got knocked down, and because no one got hurt, it is quite funny to watch over and over again. Be sure to check it out in the video player above.

The tempo of the offense was once again taken up another notch, with most times between plays ranging from 18-22 seconds.

I was really impressed with the left side of the offensive line, anchored by All-American candidate Jeremiah (CJ) Poutasi at left tackle. Along with guard Jeremiah Tofaeono and center Vyncent Jones, the left side of the line consistently opened up holes for the running backs.

Defensively, Eric Rowe was once again a standout, as well as DE Thretton Palamo, who read the offense perfectly and took a Travis Wilson pass back for a pick six.

We caught up with Coaches Whittingham and Erickson after practice, and be sure not to miss a great interview of Dres Anderson by fellow wide receiver and future sports reporter Kenneth Scott.

The Utes will practice again on Thursday in preparation for Friday's scrimmage at Rice-Eccles Stadium. All spring practices and scrimmages are open to the public, so come out on Friday between 4-6 pm to get your football fix.
