OGDEN — A teacher at a junior high school in Ogden has been arrested after allegedly sharing sexually explicit pictures over text message with a student.

Liza-Ann Roberts, 26, a teacher at Mt. Fort Junior High was arrested Tuesday after the school's resource officer Anthony Powers received information about misconduct between one of the teachers and a 14-year-old student.

The Ogden Police Department and the Ogden School District conducted an investigation, arresting Roberts following the collaborative effort.

According to charging documents, Roberts bought a cell phone for the student in October. Both Roberts and the student sent each other sexually explicit text messages and pictures containing nudity over a two-week period. Roberts allegedly sent the student a picture and asked for pictures in return.

Police officers with the Ogden Police Department served a search warrant and seized the 14-year-old's cell phone, where officers found picture consistent with statements offered to the principal.

Roberts is being charged with the sexual exploitation of a minor, a second degree felony, and dealing in harmful materials to a minor, a third degree felony.
