FAIRVIEW, Sanpete County — A fire has burned about 75 acres in Fairview Canyon.
The fire sparked about 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon about a mile east of Fairview, north of SR-31. Due to winds in the area, it quickly spread to 75 acres. At this time, however, no structures are threatened.
Crews from surrounding areas responded, including air support.
SR-31 has been closed between Fairview and Huntington while crews fight the blaze.
In June of this year, the Wood Hollow Fire caused Fairview to be evacuated. The fire took the life of one man and destroyed as many as 80 homes and structures. Huntington Canyon burned at that time too, and after its containment, heavy rains caused mudslides in the area.
